18 March 2025 - Pavilion Working Party Meeting Report

Outline of the Pavilion Working Party meeting held on 18th March 2025 at the Parish Office  

  

Present: Cllrs D Conway, S Cotter, O Ditch, M Trolley and Kirsy Sinclair (Deputy Clerk & RFO) Cllr L Tomlinson joined the meeting at 7.05pm. 

 

  1. Election of a Chairman for the meeting  

Cllr D Conway was voted to chair the meeting.  

  1. Apologies  

Cllr Cox was unable to attend the meeting. Cllr Tomlinson was running slightly late.  

  1. Declarations of interest – All members must declare interests on any matters arising during discussions.   

No declarations made.  

  1. To consider removing the proposed car parking between the current car park and the MUGA from the planning application to aid the BNG – Cllr Cotter  

Cllr Tomlinson joined the meeting during item 4.  

Cllr Cotter explained the BNG plan and area covered within this. There was some discussion to amend the area slightly, so it did not encroach onto the footpath which runs along the central hedge between two fields.  

It was agreed that the area in between the MUGA and existing carpark be removed from the car parking plan.  

Cllr Cotter to amend plan ready for submission to reflect new area, once plant species in the proposed area had been identified.  

  1. To review and agree the questions for the pavilion public consultation for recommending to Council.   

Some amendment to the introduction and questions were discussed. Cllr Ditch to discuss these amendments with Scott Johnstone. Questionnaire to be finalised and published following successful planning application. Length of time the consultation be live to be determined also. 

  1. To agree the next steps for the pavilion project and allocate roles to councillors.  

Cllrs Tomlinson and Conway to explore other potential funding sources and not for profit organisations who may be interested in running a community café.
