Pavilion@Parkfield Project

Welcome to the Pavilion@Parkfield project webpage

June 2023 - Design proposals received from University of Lincoln. Check the downloads section to see more.

June 2024 - Parish Council agree to obtain quotes for professional plans for the refrubishment.

October 2024 - Councillors met with the project architect to finalise plans for the Pavilion@Parkfield transformation. This exciting project aims to convert the existing pavilion into a community café, creating a vibrant social hub for residents. As part of the planning, options to extend the car park were also discussed. An expanded car park would improve accessibility for visitors, encourage more local events, and reduce congestion in surrounding areas. The finalised plans, including potential car park improvements, will soon be submitted for planning approval. Keep an eye on our website and newsletter for further updates as we progress with the Pavilion@Parkfield project.

March 2025 - We’re working hard on plans for the Parkfield Pavilion project, including an overflow car park and biodiversity improvements. Once the planning application is finalised, we’ll be launching a public consultation so residents can have their say. Stay tuned!

April 2025 - The planning decision (and biodiversity sign‑off) for the Parkfield Pavilion refurbishment is still with NKDC, but fundraising letters are ready to fly and a public consultation will follow. Watch this space!

May 2025 - With increased activity at the playing fields and village hall, we’re exploring options to tackle parking issues, including expanding the car park using CIL funding. We’re also liaising with local groups to coordinate usage and reduce congestion on nearby streets.

July 2025 - Council is exploring upgrades to Parkfield Playing Fields, including a 3G sports surface for the MUGA, extra car parking spaces and improvements to the pavilion building and Hillside Play Area. These ideas will go to consultation and form part of future plans.

September 2025 - Ideas to improve the Parkfield Pavilion, and add a 2G surface to the MUGA are still being developed. A public consultation will be held before any final decisions are made — your views will help shape the future of village sports and recreation facilities.

October 2025 - Planning permission has been granted for improvements at Parkfield Pavilion, including options for a café and overflow car park. A structural engineer and architect are now preparing detailed plans, funded through developer contributions (Community Infrastructure Levy).

November 2025 - Work continues with the Football Association on improvements to the Pavilion and playing fields. A specialist pitch report and soil sampling are expected shortly.

December 2025 - Good progress is being made on plans for Parkfield Pavilion. Planning permission has been approved for improvements and a future café.
