2025 marks 80 years since the end of the Second World War, a moment in history that changed the world forever.
As we approach this significant anniversary, North Kesteven District Council is offering small grants to help local communities commemorate both Victory in Europe (VE) Day on 8 May 1945 and Victory over Japan (VJ) Day on 15 August 1945.
Grants Available for Local Events
To encourage community involvement, NKDC has launched a grant scheme offering up to £500 for events that bring people together to remember and reflect. These grants are open to:
-
Community and voluntary groups
-
Charities
-
Social enterprises
To be eligible, organisations must have financial resources of less than £10,000.
Application Deadlines
If your group is interested in applying, be sure to submit your application before the following deadlines:
-
VE Day Events – Apply by 14 April 2025
-
VJ Day Events – Apply by 21 July 2025
Early applications are encouraged, as funds are limited.
Get Involved
This is a fantastic opportunity to organise community gatherings, exhibitions, talks, or other commemorative activities that honour those who served and ensure their stories live on.
If you have any questions, NKDC’s Partnerships Team is on hand to help. You can contact them via partnershipsteam@n-kesteven.gov.uk or call 01529 414155.
