Big changes are coming to our local ducks! From today, all ducks on the Beck will be officially registered and fitted with tiny leg rings.
To ensure compliance, state-of-the-art Automatic Leg Ring Cameras (ALRCs) will be installed along the Beck and around the village. Any duck caught wandering beyond the village boundary will be temporarily relocated to the Ruskington Duck Rehabilitation Facility (behind the Parish Office).
Here, they’ll undergo intensive retraining on their responsibilities as valued members of the local wildlife. Once re-educated, they will be safely released back into the community.
Residents can sponsor a duck and receive a monthly update on their swimming habits, favourite snacks, and best splash techniques.
Which local duck do you think will be first to test the system?
