Restoration work on the cemetery lychgate begins on Monday 2 June 2025, carried out by Carre Heritage with National Lottery funding.
Due to timber decay, the area will be fenced off. A temporary entrance will be opened through the left-hand side of the front hedge, with clear signs in place. It will allow access for pedestrians, mobility scooters, and hearses.
The water standpipe will be moved slightly to stay available. Work will pause for funerals.
Updates will be shared on our website, social media, and at the cemetery. Funeral directors and service providers will be informed directly.
