EA Flood Maintenance Graphic
Flood maintenance notice for Ruskington, alerting residents to potential flooding and necessary precautions.

The Environment Agency has informed Ruskington Parish Council that scheduled maintenance work will be taking place in our parish over the coming autumn months.

This work is part of their ongoing efforts to manage flood risk and maintain watercourses and flood defence assets.

What to Expect

You may see Environment Agency teams or their contractors:

  • Carrying out operational checks on flood risk management assets
  • Clearing debris from screens and watercourses
  • Ensuring structures are functioning correctly to reduce flood risk

This work is essential to ensure that water can flow freely and that flood defences are ready to perform when needed. Please note that all maintenance is subject to environmental conditions and may change due to unforeseen circumstances.

Stay Informed and Be Prepared

Residents are encouraged to take proactive steps to stay safe and informed:

Useful Resources

  • Flood alerts and warnings – what they mean
  • Surface water flooding maps
  • Flood risk asset maintenance guidance
  • Flood Re – affordable flood insurance

Emergency Preparedness

Consider preparing an emergency bag with essentials such as:

  • Medication and prescriptions
  • Important documents
  • Food and water
  • Pet supplies
  • Waterproof clothing and a torch

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Parish Office or email the Environment Agency directly at lnenquiries@environment-agency.gov.uk.

Let’s work together to stay safe and flood-aware this season.
