Lincolnshire Alert is a free messaging service provided in partnership with the Lincolnshire Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner. Residents can choose when and how they receive updates about issues that matter to them locally.

North Kesteven Heritage Grant Scheme

The North Kesteven Heritage Grant Scheme has increased from £25,000 to £50,000 to support more owners of heritage properties.

Grants of £1,000 to £3,000 are available for works such as:

  • Repair or reinstatement of original windows and doors
  • Brickwork and stonework repairs and repointing
  • Chimney repairs
  • Traditional signage
  • Boundary walls, railings and steps

Grant levels include:

  • 80% for Listed Buildings (up to £3,000)
  • 60% for Conservation Area buildings (up to £1,800)
  • 50% for locally listed heritage assets (up to £1,200)

Empty Homes Returned to Use

North Kesteven District Council has brought 37 long-term empty homes back into use during the 2025/26 financial year.
The Council offers advice and non-financial support to homeowners, including guidance on the VAT Discount Scheme.

Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) Update

An update has been provided on Local Government Reorganisation nationally and within Greater Lincolnshire.

Key milestones include:

  • July 2026 – Ministerial decision expected
  • Autumn 2026 – Draft Structural Change Orders and Joint Committees established
  • May 2027 – Shadow elections
  • 1 April 2028 – Vesting Day

Lincolnshire Public Sector Challenge

The Lincolnshire Public Sector Challenge will take place on Saturday 13 June 2026.
Participants can choose either a 26.5‑mile or 14‑mile walk along the Ridges and Furrows route.

Registration closes on 31 May 2026.
A contribution from each entry will support the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research.
Volunteers are also welcome.

E‑Waste Action Week: 16–23 May 2026

E‑Waste Action Week returns from 16 to 23 May 2026, encouraging residents to reuse, repair or recycle unwanted electrical items.

Activities include:

  • Donating phones, tablets, laptops and cables
  • Repair Cafés offering repairs and advice
  • Rehoming working electrical items

Repair Cafés will take place on:

  • 16 May 2026 – Bracebridge Heath Village Hall
  • 23 May 2026 – Riverside Church Hall, Sleaford
