We’ve received the latest speed survey results for Lincoln Road in Ruskington and wanted to share a clear summary with everyone.

The survey was carried out by the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership over seven days in May using roadside monitoring equipment.

What they found

  • The average speed of vehicles was 31.8 mph in a 30 mph area
  • Some drivers were travelling at speeds that could lead to police action or prosecution
  • There have been 2 recorded injury collisions in the past three years

What happens next?

  • Road safety engineers have reviewed the area and no physical road changes are planned
  • The data has been shared with Lincolnshire Police, who may carry out enforcement when resources allow
  • The site does not currently meet the national criteria for speed cameras

Why not install speed cameras?

Speed cameras can only be used in locations that meet strict national rules. These include:

  • A clear history of speed-related injury collisions
  • Strong evidence of ongoing speeding issues

At the moment, Lincoln Road does not meet those criteria.
