Nominate a Community Champion

Do you know someone in Ruskington who goes above and beyond for others?

Nominations are now open for the NK Community Champion Awards 2026, celebrating individuals and groups who make a positive difference in their communities.

There are categories recognising:

  • Young achievers
  • Volunteering
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Environmental action
  • Arts, culture and sport

King's Birthday Honours 2027

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is inviting nominations for the King's Birthday Honours List 2027.

Honours can be awarded to people from all walks of life who have made an exceptional contribution to their community, profession or public service.

If you know someone whose dedication and service deserve national recognition, consider submitting a nomination.

Supporting the Armed Forces Community

North Kesteven District Council has been awarded the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award, recognising its commitment to supporting serving personnel, veterans, reservists and military families.

North Hykeham Town Council has also launched an Armed Forces Community Hub, offering support, information and opportunities to connect with the wider Armed Forces community.

Protect Yourself Against Scams

The free Friends Against Scams app has recently been updated with new tools and resources to help people stay safe from fraud.

New features include:

  • Scam alerts and notifications
  • Scam awareness quizzes
  • Educational resources
  • Support information for scam victims
  • Access to the Ask Silver AI scam checker

Sleaford-on-Sea Returns

The popular Sleaford-on-Sea pop-up beach returns to Sleaford Market Place from 25 July to 23 August 2026.

Visitors can enjoy:

A special Family Fun Day will take place on 8 August (11am–4pm).
