Residents are being encouraged to take advantage of a range of opportunities, consultations, health initiatives & community events highlighted in the latest update from NKDC.
Protect Yourself This Winter
Free NHS flu vaccinations are now available for eligible pregnant women and children across Lincolnshire. The wider vaccination programme for older residents, carers and other eligible groups begins on 1 October. Vaccination helps protect individuals, families and the wider community throughout the winter months.
Nominate a Local Community Champion
Do you know someone who makes a real difference in our community?
Nominations for the North Kesteven Community Champion Awards have been extended until 21 September 2026. Awards recognise volunteers, community groups, businesses, young achievers, good neighbours and many others who help make North Kesteven a great place to live.
Help Shape Local Services
The NHS is seeking feedback on a new WorkWell service designed to help people stay in work or return to employment when affected by a health condition or disability. The consultation closes on 4 October 2026.
Researchers are also recruiting participants for the HERON falls prevention project, which aims to improve support for older people receiving care at home. Older residents, carers and care professionals are all encouraged to get involved.
Support Available for Households
Residents facing financial hardship due to an unexpected bill, loss of income or other financial shock may be able to access support through Lincolnshire County Council's Crisis and Resilience Fund. Eligibility criteria apply.
Community Safety and Crime Prevention
The Environment Agency has launched new waste crime heat maps to help identify areas affected by illegal waste activity. Residents can report waste crime through the Environment Agency or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
Lincolnshire Police are also encouraging residents to sign up to Lincolnshire Alert, a free service providing local crime updates, community safety information and advice directly to residents.
What's Happening Across North Kesteven
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved across the district this autumn.
Highlights include:
