remembrance Sunday poppy

On Sunday 8 November, our village will come together to remember and honour the service and sacrifice of those who have lost their lives in conflict.

Remembrance Sunday is an important occasion for many people in our community. Whether you attend every year or are joining us for the first time, everyone is welcome to take part in this shared moment of reflection and remembrance.

Road Closures at a Glance

To allow the procession and service to take place safely, temporary road closures will be in place between approximately 10:15am and 11:30am.

Affected roads include:

  • Chapel Street
  • Church Street
  • Parts of Sleaford Road (B1188)
  • Parts of Rectory Road (B1188)

Please allow extra time for journeys during this period and follow any diversion signs in place. A route map is available below.

Procession and Service

The procession will make its way from Chapel Street through Church Street to the Garden of Remembrance, where the community will gather for the Act of Remembrance.

Representatives from local organisations, veterans, youth groups, the church and the Parish Council will take part in the ceremony alongside residents wishing to pay their respects.

Traffic Management Arrangements

As in previous years, temporary traffic restrictions are required to ensure the safety of participants and those attending the service.

This year, trained Parish Council representatives and local volunteers will be assisting with traffic management and road closure points. We would like to thank them for giving their time to support this important community event.

We also thank residents, businesses and visitors for their patience and understanding while these arrangements are in place.

Join Us

We hope you will join us on Remembrance Sunday as we pause together to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and reflect on the freedoms we enjoy today.
