Dear Residents, Remembrance Sunday, 12 November 2023 – Traffic Restrictions and Order of Events.

The Act of Remembrance will be observed at the Garden of Remembrance, at the junction of Sleaford Road and Rectory Road, at 11:00am, Sunday 12 November 2023.

A service of Holy Communion will take place at All Saints church at 9:30am prior to the procession to the Garden of Remembrance.

The procession will assemble on Chapel Street from around 10:30am, including representatives from the Church, serving and veteran members of the Armed Forces, the Parish Council, local dignitaries, and members of youth organisations from the Village.

At 10:40am, the Procession will make their way along Church Street, to the Garden of Remembrance.

The Act of Remembrance, including the two minutes Silence will be at 11:00am, after which groups and individuals will lay wreaths followed by the National Anthem. Those gathered are invited to remain afterwards for a period of reflection.

As you may be aware, Lincolnshire Police will not be supplying any officers to assist with traffic control, so Members of the Parish Council and local volunteers will act as traffic stewards and man the road closure points.

The Procession ‘event’ has been granted a Temporary Traffic Restriction Order (TTRO) by Lincolnshire County Council Highways allowing for the closure of the highway/suspension of parking bays and the restriction of the movement of traffic (LCC Reference: EOH001059)

Access to properties and businesses will be maintained.

Yours sincerely
