A reminder from North Kesteven District Council.
Just one day remains for you to apply for yourself or an Armed Forces veteran you know to receive a Veteran’s Badge in recognition of their service.
You can apply by 24th May to have it presented at the NKDC annual #ArmedForcesDay lunch on 24th June. Or you can apply any time after for next year's event.
Any period of service in any of the armed forces or merchant navy, whether as a regular, reservist, or on national service, is eligible.

This year's veterans’ lunch will include entertainment and a special commemoration of the D-Day Normandy Landings. Over the years, more than 300 people have been presented with their Veteran’s Badges by the Council. While it's now customary for people to receive the badge automatically on leaving service, there are still many NK residents who haven’t yet received theirs or who’d like it to be presented formally. These are the people who NKDC especially want to celebrate!
At 10:30 am on 24th June, there will be a short service as the #ArmedForcesDay flag is raised outside St Denys’ Church in Sleaford. All are welcome to join.
