Ruskington Parish Council recently undertook work in the Garden of Remembrance to improve accessibility for all visitors, including those using wheelchairs and mobility aids.
The project involved installing a stabilising grid system beneath the gravel to provide a firm surface and prevent wheels from sinking.
We appreciate that some residents have raised concerns about the appearance of the area during this initial stage. Please be assured that the grass has already begun to germinate, and by next year the temporary fenced section will blend naturally with the surroundings.
Further details about the project were shared in our news update on 15 October, which you can read here:
Garden of Remembrance Renovation – A Space Renewed for All
Our aim is always to enhance public spaces for the benefit of the whole community, and we welcome constructive feedback. Thank you for your patience and understanding as these improvements settle in.
