Notice of a meeting of the Finance & Strategy Committee

 

Dear Sir/Madam,

I hereby give you notice that a meeting of the Finance Committee of Ruskington Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 7 July at 6.30pm at Ruskington Parish Office, 7-9 High Street North, Ruskington, NG34 9DY. Members of the public and press are welcome to attend and may ask questions or make short statements to the Committee at this time.

All members of the Finance Committee are summoned to attend for the purpose of considering and resolving upon the business to be transacted at the meeting, as set out hereunder.

Agenda

 

1. To receive and accept apologies where valid reasons for absence have been given to the Parish Clerk prior to the meeting.

2. To receive declarations of interest and to consider applications for dispensations in relation to DPIs. Disclosure of Pecuniary and Non-Pecuniary Interests is to be in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and to consider any applications for dispensations in relation to DPIs.  The need for Disclosure is to be based upon agenda items or at any suitable time during the Meeting when it becomes apparent to a Member.

3. To approve as a correct record the notes of the last committee meeting held on Tuesday 28 April 2026.  

4. To consider the Terms of reference for the Finance & Strategy Committee, if available.

5. Finances. (Information circulated prior to the meeting.)

   5.1. To receive a quarterly finance report from the RFO

   5.2. To undertake the quarterly review of the budget and reserves

 

6. To consider the expenditure for the following

   6.1. Speed limit signs (£20.00 each, minimum order of £50.00)

   6.2. Tree inspection training course for the Environment Caretaker (£450.00) as recommended by the Environment & Estate Committee at its meeting held on 30 June 2026.

   6.3.  To consider using CIL for the community garden to further develop the project.

   6.4. To consider the costs of using a new compliant website provider that is more user friendly to meet the needs of Council from 1 April 2027.

 

7. To review current projects.

   7.1. To discuss how projects and the budget structure will function for FY 2027-2028 and onwards.

   7.2. To consider any projects and costs to inform the budget for FY 2027-2028.

 

8. To confirm the date of the next scheduled committee meeting as 3 November 2026 at 6.30pm at the Parish Office (review of grant applications and commence budget setting for FY 2027-2028.

   8.1. To consider if any committee meetings or working party meetings are required before 3 November 2026.

 

9. To resolve whether to exclude the public and press, in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admissions to Meetings) Act 1960, to discuss the following commercially sensitive matter below.  Should this resolution be passed, members of the public and press will be required to leave the meeting. The meeting will end, and a further meeting of the Council will be convened immediately.

 

10. To receive an update on the tender for Parkfield Pavilion and agree any actions and expenditure.
