Minutes of the Ruskington Parish Council Finance Committee meeting on Wednesday 11 January 2023 at 11am at Ruskington Parish Office.
Present: Cllr P Cunningham, Cllr S Cotter, Cllr O Ditch
Also present: Kirsty Sinclair (Deputy Clerk & RFO), Kathryn Locke (Clerk to Council)
Apologies: Cllr S Tonge, Cllr G Cox
No members of the public or press were present.
The Chairman opened the meeting at 11.00am.
1. Election of Chairman of Committee for the remainder of the civic year.
Action: The Committee unanimously RESOLVED to elect Cllr Cunningham as the Chairman of the Finance Committee for the remainder of the civic year.
2. To receive and accept apologies where valid reasons for absence have been given to the Parish Clerk prior to the meeting.
Apologies had been received from Cllr Tonge and Cllr Cox and their reasons for absence were known.
Action: The Committee unanimously RESOLVED to accept Cllr Tonge and Cllr Cox’s valid reasons for absence.
3. To receive Declarations of Interest under the Localism Act 2011- being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests.
None were declared at this time.
4. To approve as a correct record the notes of the last meeting held on 30 November 2022.
The Committee unanimously RESOLVED to accept the notes of the meeting as accurate Minutes.
The Chairman signed the Minutes.
5. To finalise the budget requirements for FY2023-2024 for recommending to Council at its next meeting on 19 January 2023.
The RFO had made two amendments to the draft budget following the approval of the staff wages for 2023-2024, and to include a budget for the election in May 2023.
Action: The Committee RESOLVED to recommend the amended draft budget to council at its meeting on 19 January 2023.
6. To finalise the precept requirement for year 2023-2024 for recommending to Council at its next meeting on 19 January 2023.
Action: The Committee unanimously RESOLVED to recommend the updated precept requirement to Council at its meeting on 19 January 2023.
The Chairman closed the meeting at 12.06pm.
