Notice of a meeting of Ruskington Parish Council                             

Dear Sir/Madam,

I hereby give you notice that a meeting of Ruskington Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 14 March 2023 at the Winchelsea Centre, 11 High Street North, Ruskington, NG34 9DY at 7pm. A public session, lasting no more than 15 minutes, commences at 7pm. Members of the public and press are welcome to attend. Alternatively, questions or short statements can be submitted to the Clerk in advance of the meeting.

All Members of the Parish Council are summoned to attend for the purpose of considering and resolving upon the business to be transacted at the meeting, as set out hereunder.

1. Apologies for absence. To receive and accept apologies where valid reasons for absence have been given to the Parish Clerk prior to the meeting.

2. To receive Declarations of Interest under the Localism Act 2011- being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests.

8. To consider a request for 2 military veterans to sleep “rough” overnight in the Garden of Remembrance as part of the Great Tommy Sleep Over 2023 in aid of the Royal British Legion.

9.  To consider the draft plans for the Best Dressed Coronation Window Competition.

   9.1. To consider offering a prize to the winning business in the Best Dressed Coronation Window Competition.    

10. Environment Committee - Cllr Cotter – Chairman of the Environment Committee

   10.1. To receive the amount funded by the Co-op from the Community Champions for the community garden and replacements tubs beside the Beck.

   10.2. To consider quotes for the community garden fencing.

11. Recreation Committee – Cllr Cox - Chairman of the Recreation Committee.

   11.1. To consider a request from the Lions JFC to relocate the storage partition walls to the opposite side of the storage room to facilitate access to equipment.

16. To receive District and County Councillors’ Reports – for information only. (Any items raised for decision will appear on the agenda for the next meeting.)

17. To resolve whether to exclude the public and press, in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admissions to Meetings) Act 1960, to discuss the following staffing and contractual matters below.  Should this resolution be passed, members of the public and press will be required to leave the meeting. The meeting will end, and a further meeting of the Council will be convened immediately.

18. To consider the recommendation of the Estate Management Committee for the appointment of a contractor to project manage and undertake the works for conversion and refurbishment of the parish office property.

19.  To consider the temporary recruitment or contracting of a Parish Caretaker until the vacancy for this position can be filled.

20. To consider/approve the HR Committee recommendation for the appointment of a Caretaker for Buildings and Play Facilities.

   18.1. To consider/ approve the recommended starting pay column point.

   18.2. To consider the length of the probation period (currently 3 months).
