Dear Sir/Madam,
I hereby give notice that a meeting of the Events Committee of Ruskington Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 24 February 2026 at 6.30pm at Ruskington Parish Office, 7-9 High Street North, Ruskington, NG34 9DY. Members of the public and press are welcome to attend and may ask questions or make short statements to the Committee during the Public Session. Alternatively, questions or statements can be submitted to the Clerk prior to the meeting.
All members of the Events Committee are summoned to attend for the purpose of considering and resolving upon the business to be transacted at the meeting, as set out hereunder.

Agenda
1. To receive and accept apologies where valid reasons for absence have been given to the Parish Clerk prior to the meeting.
2. To receive declarations of interest and to consider applications for dispensations in relation to DPIs. Disclosure of Pecuniary and Non-Pecuniary Interests is to be in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and to consider any applications for dispensations in relation to DPIs. The need for Disclosure is to be based upon agenda items or at any suitable time during the meeting when it becomes apparent to a member.
3. To approve as a correct record the notes of the last meeting held on 8 January 2026.
4. To receive an update on the noticeboard for Elmtree.
5. To consider the design and purchase of feather flags.
6. May Day Event – 4th May 2026
6.1. To review attendees, expenditure and draft a performance schedule.
6.2. To discuss any further invitations to be sent.
6.3. To consider catering quotes and agree any expenditure.
6.4. To receive an update on the duck hunt and agree any expenditure.
6.5. To receive an update on the PA system and agree any expenditure.
6.6. To agree the final poster to be printed to advertise the event.
6.7. To agree any other actions and expenditure required for the event before the next meeting.
7. Youth Day – 15th August 2026
7.1. To receive an update regarding any potential support from the youth centre and confirm a structure for the day.
7.2. To agree a list of groups and organisations to invite to the event.
7.3. To discuss the idea of a TEN-tathlon and other activities for the event.
7.4. To discuss the idea of holding a disco in the Village Hall following the event.
7.5. To agree any other actions and expenditure required for the event before the next meeting.
8. Christmas Market – 5th December 2026
8.1. To confirm the wording for an application form for stall holders.
8.2. To review the area highlighted for stalls to inform the road closure application.
8.3. To discuss Christmas lighting ideas and expenditure.
8.4. To consider parking for the event and contacting St George’s Academy for permission to use their carpark for the event.
8.5. To agree any other actions and expenditure required for the event before the next meeting.
9. To agree the dates and times for the next Event Committee meeting(s).
